Refund Policy

We offer a 30‑day money‑back guarantee on every Refractions license. If the software isn’t working for you, write to us and we will refund you in full.
1. The plain‑language version
If, within 30 days of buying a Refractions license, you decide the software isn’t right for you — for any reason — email support@refractions.app from the address you used to buy. We’ll refund the full purchase price through the same payment method, usually within five business days. We will also revoke the license key so it can no longer be activated.
2. After the 30‑day window
Refunds outside the 30‑day window are at our discretion. We will generally refund in these cases:
- A bug that materially prevents you from using the Software, that we cannot fix in a reasonable time.
- An incompatibility between Refractions and a new version of GraphPad Prism or Microsoft Office that we cannot resolve.
We will generally not refund in these cases:
- You changed your mind months after purchase and have been actively using the software.
- You bought the wrong tier (we will, however, gladly help you upgrade or split the purchase).
3. EU / UK consumer right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory 14‑day right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content without giving a reason — unless you explicitly consent to receive the digital content immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal by doing so.
When you check the “I agree to the refund policy” box at checkout, you are providing that explicit consent and acknowledging that you receive the Refractions license key immediately. Your 30‑day money‑back guarantee above is more generous than the statutory 14‑day window, so in practice this changes nothing for you — you can still cancel for any reason within 30 days.
4. How refunds are paid
Refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method. Depending on your bank, it can take up to ten business days for the refund to appear on your statement. We do not refund to a different card, account, or person.
5. Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. A chargeback costs us significantly more than a refund and triggers an automatic license revocation that may not be reversible. We aim to respond to support email within one business day; if you have not heard back from us, then by all means escalate.
6. Tax
Any VAT, sales tax, or other indirect tax included in your original payment is refunded along with the principal. Where we are required to keep the tax (for example, if the tax authority does not allow us to claw back the remitted VAT), we will refund the pre‑tax amount and explain the remainder in writing.
